The Cappadocia Ultra Run

The Cappadocia Ultra Kids Run

So we have been in Cappadocia, Turkey mainly as Ian was running the 63km Salamon Cappadocia Ultra event and of course for us to have a look around this incredible part of Turkey.

Often when we are at big events they usually have a kids run and this event had a kids run too which Laanii definitely wanted to get involved in and Raif took a bit or pursuading!

We had had glorious weather the whole time we had been there but of course, on the day of the kid’s race it was pouring with rain and the cobbled stones were very slippery! The event is held in Urgup, which is also where the whole adult event and expo is which is a lovely town albeit a bit touristy!

However, in spite of the rain, the kids loved it (even Raif!!) and I would definitely recommend it if you happen to be in the area with smalls who like to run!

One thing this race had that blew us away was that every child who entered their name was put into a hat to win one of 15 bikes from one of the sponsors.

Once the 15 names had been drawn, they decided to offer another 10 bikes!!

Sadly our smalls did not win a bike, but they did get a great t-shirt, a lot of fresh air, and I got a mini work out too running with Raif and everyone enjoyed some great fun! A really well-organised event!

If I was to give it any criticism I would say that it was too short! It was only around 700m and I really do think that the kids could easily rock out 2km, because for the older kids it was over before it even started, or to have a shorter race for the little ones and a longer one for the older ones.

Otherwise a great fun even despite the rain!
